Mahjong Titans

Mahjong Titans is a free mahjong solitaire game you can play online on Gipcus. Match identical tiles in pairs and clear the whole stack of classic mahjong tiles from the board. No download, no sign-up: it runs in your browser on desktop and mobile, so it fits a coffee break or a quiet five minutes between tasks.

This is the one-player tile-matching version of mahjong, not the four-player table game. The board uses a classic 144-tile layout stacked in five layers, and uses the classic mahjong motifs you know, in a digital version.

How to play Mahjong Titans

1. Look over the stack and find two identical tiles.
2. Only free tiles can be selected. A tile is free when it has no tile on top of it and at least one open side, left or right.
3. Click the first tile, then its match. The pair is removed from the board.
4. Keep removing pairs until the playing field is empty to win the round.
5. If no free pairs are left, the game shows No more moves and you can restart the board.

Controls

• PC: use the mouse to click and remove identical tiles pair by pair.
• Mobile and tablet: tap the tiles; the game plays in landscape mode on iOS and Android browsers.
• Restart: use the restart button to start a fresh board.

Tips to clear more boards

• Work from the top down. Tiles on the upper layers sit on many others, so removing them early opens the most new moves.
• Free the long rows. Clear tiles at the ends of the widest rows first; their neighbours stay blocked until you do.
• Do not grab the first match you see. If three of the same tile are free, pick the pair that unblocks more tiles.
• Watch for buried pairs. If two matching tiles are stacked on top of each other, plan to free the lower one before you run out of other matches.
• Remove all four at once when you can. When all four copies of a tile are free, clear both pairs; there is no risk in it.
• Slow down near the end. The last few layers decide the round, so check every free tile before you click.
