Gipcus is a free gaming platform: we host instant-play browser games and publish gaming news — patch notes, release updates, launches and industry stories. This page explains how our newsroom works, so readers know what to expect from every article we publish.
Our mission
We help players stay up to date with the games they play. Our news coverage focuses on what changes for players: what is new in an update, when it goes live, which platforms it reaches, and what it means for everyday play.
What we publish
- News — game updates, patches, launches, events and industry news. Published in the News section.
- Guides — how-to-play guides, tips and walkthroughs, including guides for games available on Gipcus. Guides are kept separate from news and are clearly labelled.
- Reviews and features — opinion and analysis, clearly presented as such.
Sourcing and accuracy
- We base news on primary sources wherever possible: official patch notes, developer and publisher announcements, store listings and official social channels.
- When we rely on another outlet’s reporting, we name and link to it.
- We check dates, version numbers, platforms and release times against the official source before publishing.
- We do not publish rumours as fact. Unconfirmed information is clearly labelled as a leak, rumour or report.
Bylines, dates and updates
- Every article shows the name of the author responsible for it and the date it was published.
- When we update a story with new information, we show the updated date. Significant changes are noted in the article.
- Errors are handled under our Corrections Policy.
Use of tools and AI
Our writers may use software tools, including AI-based tools, to help with research, transcription, translation or drafting. A member of our team reviews, fact-checks and edits every article before it is published, and takes responsibility for it. We do not publish unreviewed automated content.
Independence and advertising
- Gipcus is supported by advertising. Advertisers have no influence over what we cover or how we cover it.
- Ads are labelled “Advertisement” and kept visually separate from editorial content.
- We do not accept payment for news coverage. If we ever publish sponsored content, it will be clearly marked as sponsored.
- Gipcus also hosts free browser games. Guides about games on Gipcus are published as Guides, not as news.
Fairness and conduct
- We aim to be fair to developers, publishers and players, and to report criticism and praise accurately.
- We do not publish content that is hateful, harassing or that promotes cheating, piracy or account selling.
- We respect copyright. Images are used from official press kits and media assets, or with credit and permission.
