When Anniversary Update II went live

Focus Entertainment’s press release is dated October 1, 2026 (Paris). The update is available for all current-gen console and PC players. Exact install size and server settle time can still vary by platform—budget a short buffer before Operations or Siege sessions.

Chaos Siege Mode (free)

The headline free addition is Chaos Siege Mode: for the first time in Space Marine 2 PvE, you can play as Chaos Space Marines. Fight Tyranids, Cadians, and loyalist Space Marines across two new Siege sectors set on Avarax. It is the clearest “year three” identity shift in the patch—heretic loadouts in a Siege spin-off rather than another loyalist-only wave map.

Crucible System and progression

The new Crucible System lets you apply Penances—debuffs and negative modifiers—before missions. Clear those runs to push toward rewards such as a full Lamenters armour set. It is an optional challenge track for players who want harder Operations and cosmetic prestige without waiting on a paid battle pass tier alone.

New weapons and armour (Patch 15)

One-Handed Thunder Hammer — long-requested melee option for Tactical, Assault, Bulwark, and Techmarine.
Heroic Weapons & Armour — new variants for the Power Axe, Auto Bolt Rifle, and the One-Handed Thunder Hammer, plus two new Pauldrons and a new Iron Halo in the Armoury.

Season Pass 3 cosmetic DLCs

Anniversary Update II also ships the first two Season Pass 3 packs for holders:

Space Wolves Champion Pack — Wolf Guard Champion skin for Bulwark with a Space Wolves shield and a unique One-Handed Hammer.
Exorcists Cosmetic Pack — six armour pieces inspired by the Imperium’s daemon hunters.
