What is Tribals.io?
Tribals.io is a 3D browser survival game (HTML5, first released in 2022). You spawn on a wild island in first-person view, gather wood and stone, craft tools and weapons, build a small base, and keep hunger and thirst topped up while other players—and wildlife like bears—share the same server. It plays closer to a light Rust/ARK-style session than a top-down arena .io.
Start instantly on this page: no installer and no account required to explore. Official servers save progress, so you can return to the same character and base. Play solo or team up with friends via clans and parties.
Tribals.io controls (PC)
| Action | Key / mouse |
|---|---|
| Move | W, A, S, D |
| Jump | Space |
| Main action (hit, chop, mine, attack) | Left mouse button |
| Gather / interact | F |
| Inventory and crafting | Tab (or I) |
| Build wheel (Building Plan in hand) | Hold right mouse button, pick a piece, hold left mouse to place |
| Text chat | Enter |
| Voice chat | Hold T |
On phones and tablets, on-screen buttons cover the same actions. A gamepad also works. If keys stop responding, click inside the game window so the browser tab has focus.
How to play Tribals.io: first session
- Grab food early. Pick leaves, corn, coconuts, bananas, and berries as you walk so hunger does not drain your run.
- Open crafting with Tab. Crafting also earns XP and levels you up, so craft early and often.
- Make a Hatchet and a Stone Pickaxe. The hatchet chops trees and harvests animals; the pickaxe mines stone and ore. Craft rope when recipes ask for it.
- Craft a Building Plan (costs one Leaf). Hold it, hold right-click for the build wheel, place a platform, walls, a door, and a roof, then hold left-click to set each piece.
- Place a Toolbox and lock it. It claims nearby land, blocks others from building next to you, and protects buildings from decay when stocked with wood, stone, iron fragments, or iron bars.
- Add a Sleeping Bed. You respawn at the last bed you slept in instead of a random beach.
- Put down a Camp Fire and storage. Cook food at the fire and keep spare loot in a Storage Box so you are not carrying everything on every trip.
Tips that keep you alive longer
- Watch hunger and thirst the whole session—do not wait for the warning.
- Tools before weapons. A hatchet and pickaxe speed up everything else; a Wooden Spear or Slingshot is enough for early wildlife.
- Build small and lock it. A compact hut with a fed Toolbox beats a large open base that advertises loot and decays faster.
- Respect bears. Fight them only with a real weapon and full health.
- Carry only what you can lose. On death, your sack drops for anyone to grab.
