The free demo covers the opening chapter
According to Konami’s official announcement, the demo lets you play the early stages of Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse ahead of the October 15, 2026 Day One release. Progress is meant to carry into the full game when you keep the demo save, use the same platform, and sign in with the same account. Update the retail build to the latest version when you transfer; some features stay locked in the demo cut.
That transfer rule matters more than a throwaway trial. Time spent learning the whip routes, exploring the first maps, and testing loadouts can roll forward instead of resetting on launch day—as long as you do not wipe the demo data first.
1499 Paris, Vampire Killer, and Rose’s Arcana
The game is an exploration-focused 2D action entry developed jointly by Konami, Evil Empire, and Motion Twin. The story sits in Paris in 1499, twenty-three years after Castlevania III. Trevor Belmont—the hunter who defeated Dracula—moves through the burning city with his daughter, Rose Belmont, while monsters spill from a looming castle.
Combat still centers on the sacred whip Vampire Killer, now framed for freer movement and fast exchanges. Coverage of the demo and pre-launch materials also highlights Rose sealing defeated bosses into tarot cards as Arcana, then using those skills for spells and special actions. Weapons across several categories plus Relics let you shape offense and defense as you explore—so the free chapter is useful for testing a build before October 15.
Pre-orders for physical and digital editions are open. Konami lists Midnight Edition extras such as alternate costumes for Rose, a Digital Sound & Art Gallery, and an in-game Relic, plus an Alucard-style costume for early buyers. None of that is required to try the demo.
