In Short
- The Overwatch x Shadow Monarch collab, based on Solo Leveling, starts with Season 5: A Grim Doctrine on October 6, 2026.
- Five heroes get skins: Genji as Sung Jinwoo, Reaper as Igris, Anran as Cha Hae-In, Reinhardt as Iron and Lifeweaver as Choi Jong-In.
- Blizzard’s official Season 5 post lists the collab window as October 6–19. Prices have not been listed yet.
Overwatch is turning five heroes into Solo Leveling characters starting today. The Overwatch x Shadow Monarch collab arrives with Season 5 on October 6, according to Blizzard’s Season 5 announcement. If you want Genji as Sung Jinwoo, the date that matters is the end date, because the official post gives you less time than the first reports did.
Shane the Gamer reports that Season 5 goes live at 11 AM PT on October 6. That works out to 11:30 PM IST on Tuesday night in India, so players here will realistically be shopping late tonight or on Wednesday.
Five Solo Leveling skins are in the collab
Blizzard named every skin in its post. The lineup splits between Hunters and members of the Shadow Army:
- Genji × Sung Jinwoo: the series lead, from weakest Hunter to commander of the Shadow Army.
- Reaper × Igris: the Blood-Red Commander who returns as one of Jinwoo’s Shadow Soldiers.
- Anran × Cha Hae-In: an S-Rank Hunter.
- Reinhardt × Iron: a former A-Rank Hunter who joins the Shadow Army.
- Lifeweaver × Choi Jong-In: an S-Rank Mage Hunter and Guild Master.
The announcement shows a combined bundle image for all five, but it does not say what the skins cost or whether each one can be bought on its own. Blizzard also tells players to “take the quest” during the event without listing the quest rewards in the post. Check the in-game shop and event tab once the season is live before spending coins.

The official end date is October 19, not October 26
Several outlets, including Shane the Gamer and Insider Gaming, reported the collab as running until October 26. Blizzard’s Season 5 post currently says October 6–19. Until Blizzard says otherwise, plan around October 19, which gives you about two weeks instead of three.
That matters if you were planning to save coins over the whole Halloween season. The other Season 5 events run longer: Mystery Madness: Graveyard Games is listed for October 6 to November 2, and the Tech Witches shop skins run October 9–26. The Solo Leveling skins are the first of the three to leave.
Season 5 brings more than the collab
The same update adds Doctrine, a new Support hero tied to Doomfist’s past, and a new Escort map, Watchpoint: Grímsvötn. Sombra moves from Damage to Support, Roadhog gets a reworked Scrap Gun and a new Trash Compactor ability, and Unvaulted Passes bring back revised Battle Passes from Seasons 1–15. Overwatch is free to play, so the event modes are open to anyone. The collab skins are the part with a deadline.
